Release Notes
# 🧿 Darkelf Cocoa Browser v7.0.26
**Stable Release — October 9, 2026**
Darkelf Cocoa v7.0.26 focuses on **stronger native WebKit ad blocking, cleaner page rendering, and improved everyday browsing compatibility**. This release also fixes unwanted macOS search actions in the address-bar context menu.
✨ Highlights
🛡️ Content Rules v15.08
Improved integration of supported EasyList network rules into WebKit's native content-blocking pipeline.
Improved installation handling for compiled content rules, including tabs already created while compilation was running.
Preserved existing compatibility exceptions and conservative filtering choices.
Continued native WebKit-based ad and tracker blocking without requiring a separate browser extension.
🧹 Cosmetic Ad Cleanup
Improved CSS-based cosmetic filtering for leftover advertisement containers and blank ad spaces.
Retained the compatibility-conscious behavior introduced in Content Rules v15.06.
Avoided indiscriminate blocking of legitimate images and page elements.
🖱️ Address-Bar Context Menu
Removed unwanted DuckDuckGo search actions.
Prevented those address-bar search actions from launching Safari.
Removed the Services submenu from the address-bar context menu.
Kept **Cut, Copy, Paste, and Select All** available.
🎨 Interface & Privacy
Retained the native Cocoa interface and recent refinements to menus, bookmarks, and privacy panels.
Continued ephemeral browsing, fingerprinting defenses, WebRTC restrictions, and local MiniAI Sentinel monitoring.
Preserved configurable accent colors and homepage backgrounds.
🧪 Ad-Blocking Test
A reported test of Darkelf Cocoa with the updated filtering configuration scored **93/100 on AdBlock Tester**.
This score is a snapshot of one test environment, not a promise of universal ad blocking or proof of superiority to other browsers. Website compatibility and actual ad blocking should be assessed separately.
🔧 Upgrade Notes
Update from your existing Darkelf Cocoa installation using the v7.0.26 DMG once it is published.
Filtering changes may affect some websites differently. Report reproducible site breakage with the affected URL and browser logs where possible.
The address-bar context-menu fix is specific to Darkelf's address field; it does not disable macOS Services system-wide.
